More about our hospital...
At Georgetown Equine Medicine and Surgery, we want your horse to be as comfortable as possible during its stay with us.
In 1995 Dr. St. Peter started an ambulatory practice in Georgetown, TX under the name of St. Peter’s Equine Veterinary
Service. A short time later the name was changed to The Horse Doctor. In 1999 Dr. St. Peter moved to Walburg, TX,
and out of necessity began treating cases at her home. Quickly she realized there was a need for a facility where
sick and injured horses could rehabilitate. As a result, she moved closer to Georgetown and opened Georgetown Equine
Hospital on County Road 156. The original facility, a 2400 square feet, 5 stall building, soon became too small and
thus the new facility, a 12,500 square feet building with an additional 20 stalls and a state of the art surgical
wing was built.
The focus of the clinic has always been, and will continue to be, to provide the best and most up to date medicine for
every animal that is seen. Dr. St. Peter’s specialty has always been lameness and surgery and she, along with the other
vets and staff, will continue to provide in-depth diagnostics and treatment for the injured or lame horse. Providing
care for performance, back yard, pleasure and pet horse is our goal. Our facility is designed to provide the most up
to date care while ensuring the comfort and health of your equine.
